can you believe this? me on the same stage as the King of Vocal Music. this was the 2nd and last concert of a project of JazzChor Freiburg and Bobby McFerrin presenting parts of his new album VOCAbuLarieS.
and what a breathtaking experience it was! very inspiring. one favorite moment: seeing Roger Treece - the conducter - and Bobby McFerrin literally dance in excitement in front of you to our Choir’s singing. that’s just something that doesn’t happen everyday…
one more thing that left an impression is the way both Roger and Bobby seem to aproach music. for some reason the seem to look at music and performing a lot more spiritual or ideological. they talk about how much it is a gift to be able to perform and how it is our goal to touch people’s lives. can it be that the rational Germans that we are - thinking about practicing your butt of to get the perfect performance - miss out on a the more emotional side of music?
